update google photo after plan upgrade

I recently upgraded to google plan basic, getting 100 Gb for 20 euros 
per year

years ago, when the photo space was unlimited using google compression, 
I uploaded some thousands of photos
now I'd like to replace those photos with the originals (with the same 
filename), keeping all tags, albums, preferred and so on

is it possible?
