Yeah, buy as a consumer and play IT tech - but take the big picture and go beyond just installing Windows 10 and zapping Aliens. I'd suggest he also sets up a second rig (ex-cooporate desktop) and gets some network configuration interest like containers, virtualisation, servers, security, data forensics, small board computers, phone firmware dev etc... Or something creative - art, electronics, video, music. Or something supportive - learn the skills how to help others, study an IT course, etc ... Otherwise you may as well have bought him a PlayStation, to watch his educational chances and future employment opportunities diminish (unless post-covid, attacking aliens becomes our next doom worry) -- Adrian C
