It could be that this problem started occuring when I resetted the date/time to somewhere in 2004.

Maybe that tripped up this WGA thing... but probably not... it has probably been occuring since before that by a couple of days, but my memory is not sure on this.

I did find this key entry in regedit:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Activation Technologies

Perhaps some of these keys become confused/corrupted because of the reset to 2004.

Before Windows 7 even existed ?!

Interesting hypothesis !

This resetting of date/time can occur on genuine windows installations because of empty BIOS battery !

This is something Microsoft should check !

Re-enabling some services tried, had no effect, perhaps certification issue, updated disabled long ago, why is this occuring now ???
