As I tried to explain to JJ, I'm assuming that "open" doesn't do more than 
that (no loading/buffering into memory), so the size and/or contents of the 
file should not matter at that point.    But do correct me if I'm wrong 
there, as the MS docs to the "open" method are a bit ... terse.

Yes, I might cause an error to be thrown when I try to read some contents 
without declaring what it should expect, but I'm not even getting to that 
point. :-|
