Which is for example, 1/100th second at ISO 100 and f/16. But it can be 1/200th second at f/11, 1/400th second at f/8, 1/800th second at f/5.6 and so on. Most telephoto zooms are about f/5.6 at the long setting and are sharpest around f/8 to f/11. Stopping down too much the lens will lose sharpness due to diffraction. I suspect the reason you are not getting the sharpness you want is mostly due to vibration. Shoot at a higher shutter speed (at least 1/300th) and use a remote release or the timer to trip the shutter. I your camera allows you to lock the mirror up all the better.</div><div></div><div></div><div>IMO, if you want really good, full-disk images of the moon when using a camera lens on a DSLR you do NOT want to use video since video will be resampled and compressed even before it is saved to disk. Take full-resolution stills in RAW mode and combine those into a "short" stack of images and then use that single master for sharpening and processing.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Those were exciting days for space enthusiasts and for the general public.
