For those packaging the GTK+ port, note that building with GTK+ 3 is now highly recommended over GTK+ 2 and should have no regressions. Also note that Wayland compatibility is implemented, which, if enabled, also requires GTK+ to have been compiled with Wayland support. The configuration file format for this port has changed to a simple .ini-style that can be edited by hand and is saved as snes9x.conf, keeping with the other ports' convention, in the user's config directory. This will cause any changes to settings made with previous versions to be reset to default. Frame-skipping options have also been simplified to remove never-used "fixed" rate settings and to simplify interaction with dynamic rate control and sound sync. snes9x 1.50 download Download https://t.co/aIXbKXEohU NOTICE: There were a ton of internal core changes to make SNES9x work MUCH better and on many more platforms than before. Unfortunately the Windows port is so radically differant from the rest of the ports, there is no Windows version for 1.50, as it was not maintained. Feel free to make your own Windows port from the source, but if you do PLEASE send the changes back to the SNES9x team. So what does all this mean, in practical terms? By default, all of the emulators (other than for the PSP and Nintendo DS) are configured to 1.50 (3:2) aspect ratio, to take up the full screen. Certain systems (GBA, Wonderswan, Lynx) look very nice, while others will appear squished at full screen. How squished they look will depend on their native resolution: the further the native resolution is from 1.50, the more squished the image will appear (e.g. a very fat/wide Mario in Super Mario Bros. 3). Conversely, if you choose to display the games at their native resolution, the further away they get from 1.50, the wider the black bars will be on the sides of the screen. For something like Sega Genesis, the bars will be barely noticeable, while on the NES they will be fairly prominent. Developers ChillyWilly, Ahman, and CaptShoe have all developed modified versions of Snes9xTYL. The main features that were added in these versions were that the emulator was now compatible with Slims, and ran on the 3.xx kernel. Also, the MediaEngine library that once only worked on 1.00 and 1.50 firmwares, can now be used on 3.xx firmwares as well as the Slim. Most major features from the 0.4.2 release of Snes9xTYL still remains in these releases. (Since they were all modified from the 0.4.2 release) ChillyWilly's and CaptShoe's version is actually an update version of Ahman's non-ME release. f5d0e4f075
