No, I didn't.  I just pointed out that your use of the word "tutorial" for
your premature information is rather overbearing.  And thats putting it
lightly.

I mentioned all that stuff that my cursory scanning of that macro revealed
not to "depricate" you, but to show you how much you left in there thats not
worthy of a "tutorial" designation.  And that includes your *guesses* to
what those macro-lines meant.

You don't need a better method, you need to clean up what you guessed and
write about that macro so that its *really* usefull - to the novices you
claim to write your tutorials for.

You don't need one.  Your method - or better said Notepad++'s one - already
works nicely.  Its just your explanation/representation of it that needs
work.

Though I did point out to you that your "tool" wasn't much of one when you
still have to do lots of "editor stuff" to get the macro to execute on a 
file.  Was I not allowed to say as much ?

Besides, "better" is subjective.  Some time ago I wrote a few lines of
VBScript to do the same as that macro.  One line per replacement, plus a few 
to load and save the file.   I only have to drag-and-drop a file on the 
script to get it converted.

To me its better because I can-and-have expanded on it.  I like the freedom
to be able to.  To you ?  Probably not, as you would need to learn something
different when you already have something that works.
