  Yes, I wanted to mention that when 'Arlen' kept complaining that in
this situation Notepad++ wasn't (used as) an editor.

  I'm indeed using such a "stream editor" (What was it's name again!?
:-)) for processing the (CSV-formatted) transaction records from our
banks.
