Every night I shut down my desktop, and just before walking away, I power off the power strip that handles the huge Sharp LC 45GD7U 3-foot monitor, & smaller side monitor (my wife says I get a suntan from the irradiation). In the morning, I power the PC & go make my coffee, and then when I sit back at my desk a few minutes later, I turn the power strip on for my daily illumination.
