Dear alt.comp.microsoft.windows, Apropos of nothing, I have just received a brand new copy of /Programming WinSock/ (1995) by Arthur Dumas. It even has the diskette at the back, unopened. I'm not sure when I get to direct Winsock programming, plus I don't understand why the title of the book is "WinSock" when I thought the name was more properly "Winsock" or "winsock," but based on prior experience with this book in a library, it's readily adaptable to winsock2. As far as I know, there's never been a book about winsock2 programming, so I mean to use this one, when the time comes. As it happens in life, the project I was thinking of when I ordered it got put on the back- burner, and it may take a few months, and hopefully not a few years, before I'll pick it up. I just hoped you enjoyed this minor anecdotal episode of Windows programming, and rest assured, everything was typed by hand and no LLM was involved. Have a nice Windows day! -- Johann | email: invalid -> com | http://www.myrkraverk.com/blog/ I'm not from the Internet, I just work there. | via Easynews.com https://bsky.app/profile/myrkraverk.bsky.social
