How to Use PrintShop Mail 6.1 to Create Personalized Mailings
PrintShop Mail 6.1 is a software that allows you to create personalized mai=
lings with variable data, images and barcodes. You can use it to design and=
 print letters, envelopes, labels, flyers, postcards and more. In this arti=
cle, we will show you how to use PrintShop Mail 6.1 to create a simple mail=
ing campaign.

Step 1: Create a New Document
To start a new document in PrintShop Mail 6.1, click on the File menu and s=
elect New. You will see a dialog box where you can choose the type of docum=
ent you want to create. For this example, we will choose Letter.

Next, you can select the paper size, orientation and margins for your docum=
ent. You can also choose a predefined layout or create your own. For this e=
xample, we will use the default settings.

Step 2: Import Your Data Source
To personalize your mailing, you need to import a data source that contains=
 the information of your recipients. You can use various types of data sour=
ces, such as Excel files, CSV files, databases or text files. To import you=
r data source in PrintShop Mail 6.1, click on the Data menu and select Impo=
rt Data Source.

You will see a dialog box where you can browse and select your data source =
file. For this example, we will use an Excel file that contains the names a=
nd addresses of our recipients. After selecting your file, click on Open.

Next, you will see a preview of your data source and the fields that it con=
tains. You can rename or delete any fields that you don't need. You can als=
o sort or filter your data source by clicking on the Options button. For th=
is example, we will keep all the fields as they are.



Step 3: Design Your Document
Now that you have imported your data source, you can design your document u=
sing the tools and features of PrintShop Mail 6.1. You can add text boxes, =
images, shapes, barcodes and more to your document. You can also format and=
 align them as you wish.

To insert a variable text box that will display the name of each recipient,=
 click on the Text tool and draw a text box on your document. Then, click o=
n the Insert menu and select Variable Text.

You will see a dialog box where you can choose the field from your data sou=
rce that you want to insert. For this example, we will choose Name. You can=
 also adjust the font size, color and style of your variable text. After ma=
king your choices, click on OK.

You will see that your text box now displays , which is a placeholder for t=
he actual name of each recipient. You can move or resize your text box as y=
ou like.

To insert a variable image that will display a different picture for each r=
ecipient based on their gender, click on the Image tool and draw an image b=
ox on your document. Then, click on the Insert menu and select Variable Ima=
ge.

You will see a dialog box where you can choose the field from your data sou=
rce that will determine the image to be displayed. For this example, we wil=
l choose Gender. You can also specify the folder where your images are stor=
ed and the file name format of your images. For this example, we will assum=
e that our images are stored in a folder named Images and have file names l=
ike Male.jpg or Female.jpg.

After making your choices, click on OK. You will see that your image box no=
w displays , which is a placeholder for the actual image of each recipient.=
 You can move or resize your image box as you like.

Step 4: Preview and Print Your Document
Once you have finished designing your document, you can preview how it will=
 look for each recipient by clicking on the Preview button on the toolbar. =
You can use the arrows to navigate through different records of your data s=
ource.

If you are satisfied with your document, you can print it by clicking on th=
e Print button on the toolbar. You will see a dialog box where you can choo=
se your printer settings and options. For this example, we will use the def=
ault settings.

After clicking on OK, PrintShop Mail 6.1 will print your personalized maili=
ngs for each record of your data source
