Directional antenna for WiFi access point

Over the years proliferation of WiFi access points at my neighbors
houses has begun to interfere with connections within my house.
My AP sends reasonably strong signals to my clients, but it appears
the client's replies are drowned out by the neighbor's AP signals
back at my AP.

If my client is within a few feet of my AP wifi works fine, at
30 feet the signal levels at the client that used to work no longer
do and connections fail.

Does anybody have experience using directional WiFi antennas to
"blind" a router to nearby interferers?

At first I thought something like
https://www.amazon.com/Long-Range-Directional-Wireless-Security-Surveillance/dp/B0B386PY5N/ref=sr_1_5?crid=1XN29UAS3TCRN&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.IFmhUM2cvqJkr2u_24MPfCaii1_bpAzIhZ5_cEtDEgbFU7UTkUWbeIgzK7uj9P2JCtuQwQjbvfgqrPeMmGlHMz4LKK2NeQB6Mkzjx_AhlCQYkXWKlFwpcCk7RWNFnv7icr-TTpoD6S8NOBZDo7mMB3qc3ilXWKZ7DD7UchQerFvO4CGiMsKA_1nT3wZ_UjdicDE1sPPDigJ9jrmXZ431PvnOAaC00HeAMSgIjsGKuF8.uADjqipxdeT366eHRLr6DqkgLZtKkHNbCeVuxX7DfHM&dib_tag=se&keywords=directional%2Bwifi%2Bantenna%2Bsma&qid=1729901442&sprefix=directional%2Bwifi%2Bantenna%2Bsma%2Caps%2C205&sr=8-5&th=1

might do what I want, but after reading the reviews it's unclear I'm on the
right track. In my case the client is a raspberry pi 5 with an internal
antenna that can't be changed but the router has an external antenna with
an sma connector, allowing a choice of antennas and patterns. What's needed,
I think, is mostly to blind my AP to those of the backyard neighbors.
Signal strength of my AP _at_ my clients seems not to be a problem.

If anybody has ideas or experience please post!
