Yes, I saw that. I'm wondering if more are lurking and either aren't 
sure what to say, or are waiting for something interesting to respond to?

At any rate, I'm here to explore, and maybe reclaim some spaces for 
public use. It's a shame what most of Usenet has become, and I think it 
could be more, so I'm participating in an effort to be some kind of 
anchor. Community starts with activity, and well used spaces. Wouldn't 
it be nice if instead of Reddit, people came here to talk, or search for 
information?

I'm still exploring, but I'm just doing what people used to do: finding 
things I'm interested and posting. So far, if you just say "Hello", 
people pop in and respond :)

I don't fully have a handle on the hierarchy yet, but the first space I 
think we should reclaim is a landing spot for new people like us. I 
found alt.usenet.newbies, but I don't know if that's canonical or not.

I've also found alt.callahans to be a neat looking space for hanging 
out, and alt.cuddle as a "good vibes" kind of space.
