We're not on the same page;  Suse has been offering their su-dolphin 
launcher for decades, I've used it for decades, never a single problem! 
It's not the same as logging in as root and then doing a startx.

THE problem is, especially with OTHER distros, that regardless of 
whether you start an su-dolphin or invoke dolphin from cLi as root what 
you get is NOT a dolphin with unlimited root privileges (something I 
consider to be a form of fraud).
