XP Question Regarding Bluetooth Usage

One of my computers is XP SP3. It is wired only, no wireless
connections. 

Would a Bluetooth adapter allow certain devices to be connected wireless
to my XP comp without me having to setup my XP for wireless? I want my
Usenet and Net usage to stay wireless.
