The usenet is nearly completely binary only in these days. That may be the case for commercial usenet. For free usenet, few or no "binary" 'groups are carried. (I think the same applies to "cheap" usenet too, but that's not going to continue for much longer, unless something has popped up to replace "the Berlin Server" that I don't know about.) -- J. P.
