Tried two or three patch cables and two cross-overs. Connected the 
printer to the cable router and directly to a laptop.  One laptop has 
MS Edge which the manual lists as workable.

In all cases at least one indicator light by the 8p8c socket flashed 
green but the browser timed out.

Youtube videos and Lexmark Web based instructions make this seem 
trivial. Just give the IP address to the browser.  

If printing has been working by WiFi, must that be disabled?

Other obscure snags?
