SPSS Statistics is a statistical software suite developed by IBM for data m=
anagement, advanced analytics, multivariate analysis, business intelligence=
, and criminal investigation. Long produced by SPSS Inc., it was acquired b=
y IBM in 2009. Current versions (post 2015) have the brand name: IBM SPSS S=
tatistics.

Additionally a "macro" language can be used to write command language subro=
utines. A Python programmability extension can access the information in th=
e data dictionary and data and dynamically build command syntax programs. T=
he Python programmability extension, introduced in SPSS 14, replaced the le=
ss functional SAX Basic "scripts" for most purposes, although SaxBasic rema=
ins available. In addition, the Python extension allows SPSS to run any of =
the statistics in the free software package R. From version 14 onwards, SPS=
S can be driven externally by a Python or a VB.NET program using supplied "=
plug-ins". (From Version 20 onwards, these two scripting facilities, as wel=
l as many scripts, are included on the installation media and are normally =
installed by default.)

Several variants of SPSS Statistics exist. SPSS Statistics Gradpacks are hi=
ghly discounted versions sold only to students. SPSS Statistics Server is a=

SPSS was released in its first version in 1968 as the Statistical Package f=
or the Social Sciences (SPSS) after being developed by Norman H. Nie, Dale =
H. Bent, and C. Hadlai Hull. Those principals incorporated as SPSS Inc. in =
1975. Early versions of SPSS Statistics were written in Fortran and designe=
d for batch processing on mainframes, including for example IBM and ICL ver=
sions, originally using punched cards for data and program input. A process=
ing run read a command file of SPSS commands and either a raw input file of=
 fixed-format data with a single record type, or a 'getfile' of data saved =
by a previous run. To save precious computer time an 'edit' run could be do=
ne to check command syntax without analysing the data. From version 10 (SPS=
S-X) in 1983, data files could contain multiple record types.

SPSS Statistics version 13.0 for Mac OS X was not compatible with Intel-bas=
ed Macintosh computers, due to the Rosetta emulation software causing error=
s in calculations. SPSS Statistics 15.0 for Windows needed a downloadable h=
otfix to be installed in order to be compatible with Windows Vista.

From version 16.0, the same version runs under Windows, Mac, and Linux. The=
 graphical user interface is written in Java. The Mac OS version is provide=
d as a Universal binary, making it fully compatible with both PowerPC and I=
ntel-based Mac hardware.

Since many authors are used to citing the old format of SPSS, they still re=
fer to the newer versions as if they are owned by SPSS Inc. in Chicago. Of =
the 50 original articles and short communications published in the first 4 =
issues of volume 23, 2014, three (9.4s%) articles [3,4,5] did so.

Environmental Attitude (EA) has been understood to be a complex multidimens=
ional construct with minimal empirical evidence in developing countries. In=
 the present study, psychometric properties of an EA scale was empirically =
assessed using data from a community based study conducted in Nigeria. Diff=
erent measures of EA were aggregated into a single EA scale and administere=
d to 1,858 individuals. Mean (Standard deviation) and proportions were used=
 to describe the distribution of continuous and discrete data respectively.=
 Reliability of the scale was assessed using Cronbach alpha. Varying hypoth=
etical models of the EA were assessed using Exploratory Factor Analysis (EF=
A) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). Data were analysed using IBM SPS=
S version 20 and AMOS version 21 at 5% significant level. Overall mean scor=
e and alpha coefficient for the combined EA measure was 381.7 (49.0) and 0.=
928 respectively. A 3-factor structure accounting for 36% cumulative varian=
ce in the scale item was extracted in an EFA. A non-orthogonal 3-factor mod=
el was a significant improvement over the original none-correlated 5-factor=

I ended up creating a script that removed all de log4j files from the folde=
r(s) in question.=20

Then with jamf composer, I created an "Update" that would add the updated f=
iles to the folders.=20

Please note that as someone mentioned below, folder names/paths, are differ=
ent depending on the version.

I've run ibm_spss_fix_log4j-2.0.pkg on two machines and both report "[spss]=
 is not vulnerable." They're definitely still vulnerable, though. They have=
 SPSS version 28.0.0.0. I see in your post-install script, in the lines tha=
t define SPSS_VERSION, 28 is defined as 28.0.1*. Would that prevent my SPSS=
 installs from being scanned properly?

Each version has different folders in the app. For instance 28.01 has \bin\=
as-3.3.0.0 but 28.0.0 has \bin\as-3.2.3.0, so I had to separate out the ver=
sions and add cases and functions for those two different versions

IBM provides a list of feature codes, that tells you which feature codes ar=
e associated with specific functionality. Each version of Statistics offers=
 base functionality, but in order to unlock some more advanced functionalit=
y, you need Statistics Standard or Statistics Premium.
