I have signed up for it and have the app on my phone, even though I am not traveling at the moment. I've made a few test calls with it. Seems to work. But they bug me a lot with reminders etc. that I should start making calls. Unlike Google (I use Google Hangouts a lot), TextNow seems have some incentive to sell me things, and they will need to change their business model at some point once they get people signed up to be able to make some money. So, I may find it useful someday but not counting on having it forever or it being free forever. Doesn't hurt to try it!


Is there a way to send you the .pcap file, may be to PM or email? These files usually contain too much specific data to post them on a public forum unedited. I doubt TextNow uses their own protocol since this app allows to call any other softphones, ATAs, mobiles and landlines.
