As Link's doppelgänger, Dark Link bears a resemblance to the Link of whichever game he appears in. He wears the same clothing as Link: a tunic and a long, floppy cap, though the similarities to Link end there. His entire outfit is black or dark gray instead of green. Moreover, his hair is usually either a shadowy black or a dark gray. Dark Link tends to be left-handed like Link. However, in some appearances (particularly when multiple copies of him appear), he has been shown to be ambidextrous. Another notable feature is his red eyes, which are usually the only prominent feature against his dark visage.

Dark Link appears as the final challenge of the Take 'Em All On! mini-game in Castle Town. In this appearance, he attacks using a blade as dark as himself, that subsequently leaves a fitting black trail, and he can also place bombs and shoot arrows. He can also perform a jump attack like Link, only his is higher and much slower. Dark Link also mimics Link's sword attacks when he himself is not attacking, so Link must block his attacks and then counterattack. The music played when fighting him is the same as the track used when Link chased the Ghost Ship during the final boss's second phase in Phantom Hourglass. Conversely to his appearance in Ocarina of Time, he slowly fades from a pure black to a translucent gray as he takes damage, and once defeated, he falls over on his back and disappears, his eyes eerily left open during the whole animation. The room he is fought in is the only one which contains Hearts, despite Joynas's earlier warning that there is no way to recover health in the challenge rooms.[4]

In the Ocarina of Time manga by Akira Himekawa, Link meets up with his shadowed doppelganger at Kakariko Village. From Beneath the Well, Dark Link emerges, ready to defeat the original Link. The original Link managed to defeat his dark self by learning that the shadow monster is only as good as Link was then. So to defeat him, Link had to become better than he was before. Slicing Dark Link in half, the dark hero was not yet done. Dark Link then returned riding on a Dark Epona. Link countered and defeated Dark Link once again with the use of his own Epona. This Dark Link replaced Bongo Bongo as boss, most likely because the Shadow Temple didn't appear in the manga.

In Hyrule Warriors, Dark Link appears as a mini-boss in the "A War of Spirit" Scenario. He is summoned by Cia by channeling the darker side of Link's personality into physical form, appearing as a completely dark version of him with glowing red eyes. After the first one is defeated, several more copies are summoned which attack Link and the Hyrulean Forces. Link fights them all with the confidence that he can easily overcome them, but quickly becomes overwhelmed, and is saved by his allies who defeat and dispel the Dark Links.

In the Master Quest DLC pack, Dark Link appears again in the Cia's Tale Scenario, "Darkness Falls". When Cia's dark magic begins to steadily unhinge her mind, she begins summoning several Dark Links to defend herself from Ganondorf's Forces, under the delusion that Link will come to protect her. However, by the time Zelda's Forces reach her stronghold, the Dark Links appeared to have all been vanquished in battle.

Link, Toon Link and also Young Link can take on the appearance of Dark Link as alternate costumes in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. While Link is based on his Breath of the Wild appearance, Link's costume does not resemble the Dark Series, instead giving Link dark gray skin and glowing red eyes while wearing a black Wild Set. Young Link's costume also gives him dark gray skin and glowing red eyes while wearing a black Kokiri Tunic and black Kokiri Boots.

When Link finally obtains the Master Sword, he starts to become overconfident in his own abilities. Sensing this, Cia takes advantage of his arrogance and pulls out the darkness in his heart to create a doppelganger out of shadow. He fights one, but four more appear, as Link still harbors arrogance in his heart, which also obstructs the Master Sword's true power. Eventually, he becomes trapped in a room where he is nearly overwhelmed by Dark Links, but is saved by his allies at the last minute. As Link realizes his limits and discovers the power of friendship and cooperation, all the Dark Links disappear and the Master Sword shows its true power.

Links darkest dreams and realms are awakening.

Have to face it with his deepest fear. Himself. The dark link is awakened.

November is here.

Some of it was kind of hilarious, like some of the dialogue was different, Pieces of Heart in unreachable areas, stuff like that. But when I reached the Water Temple, things started to get weird... Like randomly at times, I'd hear dark laughing, people screaming, and weird stuff like that. I even found blood in some of the watery areas. And then... I reached the Dark Link sub-boss.

I honestly do not regret buying this it's a pretty big piece for a alto but the holes are still nice and close. It plays every note crystal clear like a bell. It's has a nice deep low end and the high end is everything but shrill. It is a very lovely piece to play for family and it is extremely loud but it doesn't require much breath pressure to get notes to ring out nicely you can play it quietly with ease. As far as the glaze there is not a single imperfection on mine the glaze is solid the black is very dark and not see through at all. The walls of the ocarina are nice and thick, but not too thick. Overall the ocarina resonate really well. It is on the more expensive side of pendants but you do need it for your collection. You'll find yourself reaching for it more and more often. Unfortunately it's too large to carry around it is very heavy and if you are buying this for a child you may want to reconsider as it might be hard for them to wrap their hands around while still being able to cover the holes. Over all 100% recommend. I would really love to see more pendants from STL, possibly a new sopranino range sweet potato or a pendant style pokeflue or a size down version of the pokeball that you can put in the pocket or wear around the neck

Dark Link is an evil doppelganger of Link who appears as an enemy in many The Legend of Zelda games. His battles are often thought of as the hero Link overcoming the darkness within himself. He is the most recurring minor boss character in the franchise and second-most recurring villain overall.

Dark Link is a recurring antagonist from The Legend of Zelda franchise. He is a doppelganger of Link, born from the darkness in his heart, and has appeared in several games throughout the Legend of Zelda series. As Link's dark clone, he is able to use many of Link's own techniques against him. Physically, he resembles Link, but with clothing, skin, and hair that are varying shades of dark gray or black, and his eyes glow red.

In Hyrule Warriors, the sorceress Cia lays a trap for Link, and uses his overconfidence against him by targeting the darkness in his heart to create multiple Dark Links. Link must fight them off, but they eventually gain the upper hand. However, his friends come to his rescue, and through his realization of the strength of that friendship, the Dark Links are vanquished and the Master Sword awakens to its full power.

Though his facial features, height, weight, and build are identical, where the Hero of Time's hair was blond, Dark Link's hair ranges from being light gray to raven-wing black depending on his mood and current power level (light being the most benign and the weakest, and dark being extremely annoyed or angry and at maximum power).

Dark Link can see perfectly in the dark, and has a resistance to poisons and other dark magic. His senses are far more receptive than a human's, and he can detect the movements and presence of other dark beings.

Much later on, after Aurora becomes Link's ally, Dark Link is revealed to be an agent of the Master of Shadows, who is working to spread darkness over the land after Ganondorf's downfall, though he was never loyal to him to begin with, and, after being forcibly captured, learned to resent him. But Dark Link had no power to defeat him, and upon attempting to flee, was caught and severely punished.

The Dark Link who appears in The Legend of Zelda: Dark Legacy operates as the game's protagonist. He starts outneutral in his ideals, not remembering who he is or why he got where he is. Over the course of the game, the player isable to make various choices that sway him towards either the dark side and revival (Ganon's Forces) or the light sideand redemption (the Kingdom of Hyrule).

In this game, Ganon decided to do away with his nemesis for good through the creation of a fourth piece of the Triforce, referred to as the Dark Quadforce, which would serve to complete the Triforce pyramid and both enhance the strengthof those pieces it is lined up with while weakening those it is wielded against. The intention of this was for the DarkQuadforce to strengthen Power (Ganon) while weakening both Wisdom (Princess Zelda) and Courage (Link), allowingGanon to far more easily overtake all realms. Though artificial in nature, Ganon poured enough of his and his minions'energy into the object to give it immense power and allowing it to function as intended. However, Ganon soondiscovered that each of the pieces requires a guardian in order to properly function, and because of this he wasrequired to create a proxy guardian for the Dark Quadforce in order to wield it in battle. With this he chose to utilizehis darkest magics to create a Dark Link which would do his bidding and would have the same prowes in battle as Linkhimself. Through this magic, Ganon created a doppelganger Hylian body in a similar manner to his creation of other, weaker Dark Links, but since the Quadforce's guardian needed a soul, Ganon yanked one from the Twilight Realm; thissoul happened to be a shred of the Minish sorcerer Vaati's soul reincarnated last into the body of a Twili.
