would this work for you? you can set style properties for an option and disable the field so it's not selectable anymore. this question seems to have been answered with another post. default empty option.

I'm trying to hide a few options in a dropdown box using .hide(). This works perfectly fine in firefox and chrome, but it doesn't work in IE and Safari. My original code is more complex but I've narrowed it down to this.

This will work.. change .show to .showOption and .hideOption.However this still kind of sucks in IE because in firefox you can make it hide an option which is selected. So if "Select One" is shown and is hidden. Firefox will still say "select one".

You can hide and show them as much as you want, and they will keep their original order and any .data('x') values you've assigned to the option. It works in all browsers. You can see that in this sample: jsFiddle - Toggle Dropdown Options

Safari renders things differently and uses a UI overlay for dropdowns. You can't just hide them, but you can refresh the options match from array each time. Here I use jQuery to clear a select options each time and create new options:

Hi, I'm really hoping someone can help me.After updating my iPhone 11 to iOS 16 and tried to launch an app from xCode on it, I noticed that I didn't have dev mode enabled. When I went to Settings > Privacy & Security to toggle the Developer Mode on, it wasn't there. There is no Developer Mode option in my settings, the only option and the end of Privacy & Security is Lockdown Mode.

I tried so many troubleshooting techniques and spent a lot of time looking for solutions. I tried powering on and off while connected to my macbook with xcode running and again without xcode running. Made sure my device has the latest update (iOS 16.0.2) and my device has trusted the connection to the Macbook as well. I also had the same problem on my girlfriends brand new iPhone 13, I was really hoping it was just my device but no, her device doesn't have the Dev Mode option either. Out of curiosity I asked my friends at work if they had the option but they did not. I even went as far as going into an Apple store and checking the devices on display and they didn't have the option either. And when I asked the staff their, they didn't know why the option wasn't showing up on mine or even their own personal devices.

Hey, my developer mode option has just appeared today. I didn't do anything different since my last post as Apple Support had no idea why I couldn't see the option and they said they will get back to me but I heard nothing back yet. It was strange and frustrating to see the option just appear like that after so much time and effort to solve this issue ha. All I did was the steps Claude31 has mentioned above (which I have done many of times) and it just worked today. Anyway just wanted to let you know that I now have developer mode option up and running on my device. I have heard there are a lot of bugs with the iOS 16 so I guess we can just add this to the list of rare bugs.

When I first downloaded Brave, I had no option for importing anything from Safari. After browsing some forums, I saw one that said I had to give Brave full disk access. I did that, and sure enough, the option to import from Safari was in the list upon restart. That said, it did not import my passwords. I was able to export them from Safari as a CSV but when I tried browsing for a file Brave was only looking for an html file only.

In the last few days, I am also experiencing this issue in Brave, either using the clip extension or bookmarklets. Clipping a text selection works fine. Clipping to PDF (with or without the clutter option) returns a bookmark

Hello, This is a very important function for me and I confirm that it has stopped working sometime in the past weeks. I only get a webloc and if I disconnect my machine from the net, I cannot see anything behind this webloc.

I meet this problem on a MacBook running OSX 10.14.6 and DTP 3.5.2 and both with DTP browser, Safari and Firefox, with or without the clutter-free option, with both PDF and Web archive captures.

Swipe down from the top edge of the screen with two fingers to activate Speak Screen, which will bring up a tool bar atop the article. This toolbar includes a hand symbol that allows you to select a section of text to just read from that point on. There is also a back arrow, a pause icon, and a forward arrow to advance in the article. Lastly there is a reading speed option that remembers your last choice and defaults at 1x rate.

Do you want to increase your privacy on Safari or maybe make it more useful for you? To change your Safari preferences on an iOS device, you'll need to use your device's Settings app instead of the Safari app. On macOS computers, you can change the settings from Safari's Preferences menu. Both the mobile and the desktop share some similar settings, but the desktop version has many more options available.
