Possibly without a file open, those >two menu choices will be functional. I tried that three ways: 1. I used Search Everything to look for qw.exe. I found it, then held down CTRL while double-clicking the Quicken icon. Quicken opened normally with the same problem. 2. I went to C:\Program Files (x86)\Quicken and then held down CTRL while double-clicking qw.exe. It gave me Properties for qw.exe. 3. I went to C:\Program Files (x86)\Quicken and then right-clicked and chose Open while holding down the Ctrl key. This way it opened with only the File and Help menu choices. Neither worked. So it seems clear that the problem is with Quicken, not the data file. > >> >If the test file works, that suggests problems with your regular Q file. >> >To attempt to address that, you could try Validate, and possibly >> >Super-Validate, on your current file. Yes, thanks. I know how to uninstall a program. >Presumably you have your Quicken installation file; I have the 2018 Quicken Deluxe (not Premier) Installation CD. It now seems clear that the problem is not with the data file.
