I just happened to notice that question today: 
I believe there is another way besides Help > About 
to determine  your current Quicken release.

Right-click the Quicken executable file named as the "Target" 
in your desktop Quicken shortcut Properties  
[qw.exe in C:\Program files (x86)\Quicken on my PC].
Select Properties > Details.
Note "Product version".
