My thoughts:

This NG is primarily for Quicken which is *not* an accounting package. 
it's a *personal* finance software product.  As you mention, Quickbooks 
(made by Intuit, a separate company from Quicken Inc. who makes Quicken) 
is what many small companies use.

A newsgroup that might be more appropriate for you to discuss your 
topics would be: alt.comp.software.financial.quickbooks .
