I'm not sure I fully understand what is happening here, but I'll offer a 
couple of thoughts.

If you are clicking Enter on the scheduled transaction, modifying fields 
in the resulting Edit dialog, then clicking Enter (to enter the 
scheduled transaction in the register: that process consistently fails 
to retain the changes I make on Edit dialog.
The only way I know to overcome that is to either modify the scheduled
transaction in Manage Bill and Income Reminders, or Enter the scheduled
transaction with no changes, then modify it in the account register.

If that's not your issue, the only approach I can think of is some
combination of Validate/SuperValidate and deleting/re-entering the
scheduled transaction.
