To filter out closed lots, click the "Options" gear-wheel icon in the upper right of the Portfolio display and uncheck "Show closed lots". That option has been in Quicken since at least Q2004 - for twenty years at least. It does appear that some new releases of Quicken have altered settings in Quicken, something that should not happen. But it does not seem to happen to everyone: I'm using R565.9 and my Portfolio closed lot option has never been changed by any new release.
