I don't think there's anything wrong or strange about this.

Intuit is a software developer, sales is not their specialty.
Amazon (and the like) are sellers, sales IS their specialty.

Intuit needs those third-party sellers, and those third party
sellers wouldn't have much incentive to try to sell Intuit products,
if Intuit's price and the third-party seller's price were too close ...
much less the same.

I think Intuit just offers their product for sale as a convenience
for potential customers who don't want to shop around for the best
price.

I believe the same logic applies to Quicken.

I can't ever recall Intuit/Quicken not charging more for Quicken
than third-party sellers.

[I don't use any Intuit products, so I my price recollections only
apply to Quicken.]
