Two other options, neither one might be "satisfying". 1. Just accept a correcting transaction during your next reconciliation after you've verified you're ok with the transactions in your register. Don't worry about it moving forward. (This was you keep your payment history past and present in the same file). (This is actually akin to Evan's idea of modifying the opening balance.) 2.
