Memorized Transaction Required to be able to view all transactions via register drop=down

Recently I wanted to see all transactions for a particular payee in my 
register but there was no drop down icon on the payee line.  Turns out 
that one needs to have a memorized transaction for that payee in order 
to have the drop down populated.  Many of my entries come into my 
register via a automatic "Bills, Income, and Transfers" register entry 
and they're not in the memorized transaction list.

Seems like a waste to have to memorize one of these to get that drop 
down facility to work.
