If you did not do anything to the drive, changes are either that it has worn
out (if it's an old drive), or the USB port's connectors have become dirty
enough to fully make contact with the USB plug. If trying on other USB ports
(especially the ones on the back panel, if the computer is a desktop PC)
doesn't help, it's likely that the drive has worn out.
