External Hard Drive issue

Keep getting message "Backup Plus (F) There is a problem with this drive. Scan the drive now and fix it. The drive was disconnected from my PC after it was filled up with downloaded videos. The video play fine but I keep getting this message. How do I scan the drive to "fix" it?"
