The OldbieOne sockpuppet isn't whom it's pretending to be, obviously. Yes, "froup" began as a spelling mistake that caught on. A text newsgroup is meant for discussion. A froup isn't; it's frivolous. The purpose is to add an entry into the newsfroups file with a witty brief description to show how clever the newfrouper was being. Having revenge froups is a matter of pride; my enemies were feeding my ego. It's very upsetting that some of the revenge froups are no longer listed in the archived newsfroups file.
