I couldn't care less about upvotes or downvotes and I only believe half of what I read anywhere anyway. The main thing these web forums have that usenet doesn't is traffic. Also they are moderated, so no flame wars and not excessive off topic posting. I prefer usenet to them, but there is no point flogging a dead horse and sadly usenet is limping towards the knackers yard.
