Funny how that hasn’t changed. Today’s Windows-based gaming handhelds
still have trouble managing the battery properly -- another area in
which the Linux-based competition is doing a noticeably better job.

Most of us (who were not complete Microsoft nuts) did. But Microsoft’s
power to wield that kind of destruction is, thankfully, now only a
shadow of its former self.

How come? Partly from overpromising and underdelivering too many
times; partly also because Windows is simply not flexible enough to
keep up with all the new ways people want to use computing power.
