I am not speaking of others but myself. Not there can be reasoned disagreement
on how to best promote either of those things... but those principles are
important to me.

Show the peer review or similar research you are referring to.

Many countries focus on rehabilitation for many types of crimes with great
success. For some crimes rehabilitation seems unlikely or impossible -- but
even then life in prison is generally cheaper than the death penalty, and not
as permanent for times there are mistakes.

Give specific examples -- ones backed by large swaths of Democrats (as MAGA is
backed by a large number of Republicans). Be aware I will be asking for
polling data or the like to back your claim. Remember, for me evidence is very
important.
