If by 'successful' you mean running a fascist, racist, warmongering,
apartheid state, then yes, they've been very successful.

ATM I'm reading 'Footnotes in Gaza' by Joe Sacco about the execution of
Palestinian refugees (by the IDF) in Gaza 1956. Not something to be
jealous of, more ashamed (if you have a conscience) . Unfortunately, it
is merely a footnote, because there have been so much more deaths since
then.
