I assume you mean “suppression of Xlibre by huge corporate interests” is
is exaggerated, since Lawrence’s response is so obviously sarcastic.

It seems to me that the reality is that it’s largely ignored. Partly
that’s due to of adoption of Wayland, perhaps, but it’s also
substantially because if you do need X11, Xorg remains readily
available.
