Nowadays, Linux desktops are like Windows desktops, requiring
two (or more) levels of knowledge: "user" and "guru".

You wouldn't expect grandma to configure esoteric networking on
her MS Windows machine.  Same goes for her Linux machine, if she were
using that.

(I know a Linux grandma who uses Pan on Linux to post to the Usenet,
and she is a "user".  When she has trouble, she gets help from her
daughter, who is a "guru".)
