Attention: Mathematicians/Scientists The GNU C Library, Glibc-2.44, is released. This version incorporates the CORE-MATH functions which provide correct rounding: <https://core-math.gitlabpages.inria.fr/> <https://inbox.sourceware.org/libc-announce/[email protected]/T/> This is a major achievement and one for which that I have been waiting. But don't build just yet. A minor issue has been discovered and fixed: <https://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=34465> A patch is found in the discussion link for those who may not want to wait for the back port. IEEE754 only mandates correct rounding for arithmetic operations. But CORE-MATH provides correct rounding for all the elementary functions. It is a significant advance for Glibc. -- Gentoo/LFS: Is there any-fucking-thing else?
