If you go to DigiKey's site you'll find there are 0 in stock. There is a 
'check lead time' option that says they will be available 6/7/2027.

I've seen this in the early '80s when lead times were a year or more. 
Before starting a design you researched what you could buy. Motorola was 
particularly bad as they responded to increased demand in the automotive 
industry as cars became more sophisticated. 

The Amazon pricing probably reflects a vendor who has stock on hand and is 
gouging for all they're worth, or should I say responding to the law of 
supply and demand. 

The problem is if Part B is designed in because of temporary shortage of 
Part A, there is little future incentive to go back to Part A.
