Many moons ago I hosted a copy of the Netscape 0.91 RSS DTD.
I had numerous requests for an RSS 2.0 DTD which went onto
the back burner but there is now a copy at
https://xml.silmaril.ie/dtds/rss-2.0.dtd
which follows exactly the RSSBoard specification.
Similar requests for an Atom DTD have also been reactivated
and it too is now in the same place
https://xml.silmaril.ie/atom.dtd
This has been constructed from the spec, as the existing
atom.xsd appears to be missing some bits. There are also
other unresolved elements, so complaints to me, please.
The reason for the requests seems to be a small number of
people using software that takes DTDs, not XSDs; the still
extensive use of DTDs in some disciplines and workflows; and
the simpler readability of Declaration Syntax compared with
XSD.
