Re: the Kurzweil-NFB reader

Hi Stan and all,
I have the KNFB reader and can tell you that it is a wonderful piece of 
equipment.  I'm totally blind and have absolutely no trouble lining it up. 
I use it to read my mail, articles from magazines, instructions on food 
packages, receipts, and all manner of other miscellaneous mystery print that 
pops up in my daily life.  Oh, I also use it to sort my money when I've put 
it in my wallet too hastily or find a few stray bills in a coat pocket!  The 
price has actually come down from what it was originally.  When I got mine 
it was $3495.  I think it's now $2595.  Agencies are pretty willing to buy 
them for people -- probably because the concept of a digital camera taking a 
picture of print and reading it to us is a concept most sighted people can 
grasp easily.
