a huge Openbook question

Hi folks,
I'm thinking about buying Openbook.
I heard from the folks at Freedom Scientific, that Openbook comes with a built in braille translator so you don't need Duxbury.  However, I called a local dealer of their products, and she said, "that's not true, you need Duxbury.
So, can someone tell me what the real story is here?
