Hello list, Yes, the fact that you have to hit "reply to all" on this list to get your message to go to the whole list is designed to keep the list low-traffic, which is what a lot of people like about it, especially as compared to many other lists which fill your inbox. I imagine that if this were changed so that simply hitting "reply" sent one's message to the whole list, the traffic on the list would go way up and Vicug-L would constantly be reaching its threshold of ten messages per day. If anyone has comments about this one way or the other, please feel free to send them to [email protected]. Thanks. Hi Becky. I like the way this list works and would appreciate all list moderators taking up this method. I believe it should require you to do something extra to reply to the whole list, like pressing reply to all. You're right that too many replies are intended for the originator of the message and don't need to clutter my inbox. I believe this list to be one of the best ones I currently subscribe to, and this feature is a large part of that. Like you, my usual experience with e-mail lists is that ctrl-r replies to the list, and if I want to write to someone off list, I need to shift-tab till I get to their name, select it, copy it to the clipboard, and open a new message. I would really prefer for the ctrl-r and shift-ctrl-r keystrokes to work this same way with vicug-l, because I often forget, and send a reply to one person when I'd rather reply to the list. On the other hand, I dislike it intensely when I have to go through a bunch of msgs that ought to have gone to only the sender and not the entire list. Is this the reason why this list is set up this way? Or is there some other command I ought to know about to get my usual commands to work with vicug-l?
