This "virus alert" says it was discovered by MacAfee "yesterday." That's a sure sign it's a quasivirus; i.e., it gets you to send copies to everyone in your addressbook. If it weren't a hoax, it would have a date instead of "yesterday," and it could then stop being circulated after a couple of weeks. The suggestion that you send it to everyone is another sign of being a hoax; a real virus alert leaves it to you to decide how widely to circulate it. --Nelson ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, November 12, 2007 11:19 AM Subject: [VICUG-L] Fw: VIRUS ALERT -------- Original Message -------- From: "pinecreekbob" <[email protected]> To: <Undisclosed-Recipient:, > Subject: Fw: VIRUS ALERT Date: Mon, 12 Nov 2007 09:41:49 -0500 PLEASE FORWARD THIS WARNING AMONG FRIENDS, FAMILY AND CONTACTS!
