Hi Harry,

Mick's suggestion is good, but I'll add a tale of my own. I
spent an hour or more trying to find out why I could not get
sound from a client's laptop. I was nearly demented when my
engineer appeared and asked what the problem was. I
explained - and in somewhat colourful language. He picked
up one of the speakers, looked at it, and said, "You need
some batteries in this one?"

My language became even more colourful!! However, it did
solve the problem.

I've never lived that one down.

George.

Subject: [VICUG-L] can't get any audio out of my stereo
speakers

Hi all,
I'm using a laptop computer, running windows xp home
edition, and jaws for Windows version 9.
My laptop speakers work just fine.
However, when I plug my speakers into any jack on my
computer, I cannot get any audio.
I want to use my stereo speakers.
Can someone walk me through, step by step on how to get my
speakers to work?
It's not a volume issue either, because the volume is fine.
Do I go into sounds and audio devices? If so, what do I do
after that?
Harry
