Greetings, 

I am Marco Gregnanin, CEO of the ITEX, a company specialized in assistive technologies realized with the direct advice of no sighted people. A man from
the USA invited me to get in contact with your radio, just to let people know what we are doing in Italy (his mail is attached at the bottom of this page). 

Well, SiRecognizer is the world’s first portable system able to recognise flat and solid objects trough the eyes of a digital camera! Thanks to a patented

A real computer with Windows XP and 60GB HardDisk, slightly bigger than a palm, able to recognise objects in less than ten seconds! SiRecognizer was developed
specifically for the blind, visual impaired and dislexics. SiRecognizer can read books, magazines and newspapers of any size and complexity (up to a complete
A2 page!), bottles, cans, medicines and their blisters. Texts found on TVs and LCD displays can all be read. Whatever the camera frames, SiRecognizer reads! 

SiRecognizer can automatically adjust perspective, skew and shape of any object. It can correct the framing of the picture trough voice messages such as
“move the camera to the right”, “move the camera backwards” and (in the new version) “turn the object of 45 degrees to the right”. It has editing features,
voice recognition (command and dictation) and voice recording, MP3 features, handwriting modules, bluetooth, wifi and much much more. 

We strongly believe that quality is the most important side of our work. And that's the reason for which SiRecognizer delivers the best recognition quality
along with nine recognition strategies! You can use SiRecognizer in combination with any screen reader, braille bar and application. And, if you need connectivity
in every single moment of your life, you can ask for the embedded HSDPA module. 

SiRecognizer is also a portable video enlarger; it speaks and recognises texts in more than 20 languages (including Russian, Greek and Asian languages)!
If connected to any scanner, SiRecognizer becomes an ultra-advanced reading system able to recognise complex table-rich pages. And it has has also color
recognition features! 

SiRecognizer results are always excellent and can be saved in over 50 formats (txt, rtf, doc, xls, wav, html, PDF, ebook and tiff) not to mention various
hybrid formats, specific for the sight-impaired (i.e. enlarged images and text). They can be modified with any “editor” such as WordPad, Microsoft Word
and even Microsoft Excel. This allows students to complete any kind of forms or questionnaires. SiRecognizer can save and/or print the results thanks to
USB, Ethernet, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. 

SiRecognizer gives you real freedom: finally you can read a book at the library, a timetable at the bus stop, etc. Simple things become a reality for everyone.
And it does simply work!
 
SiRecognizer is perfectly integrated with existing technology: Internet, GPS, Screen Readers, Braille Bars, printers, phones, mobile phones, monitor and
TVs can all be used with no difficulties. By so doing SiRecognizer becomes i.e. a GPS guide for the city, a video enlarger with a BIG external monitor,
a real computer with a Braille Bar and much more. Furthermore, Internet & Mail can be accessed trough any bluetooth mobile phone or with the optional HSPDA
module. 

SiRecognizer has two powerful speakers (2 Watt each), a headphone jack and a stereo microphone that make it a perfect companion for everyday life. A joystick
and seven special keys make the system completely accessible and independent. And just connect its mini USB keyboard to turn it into a REAL Windows XP
computer! 

We started the development of SiRecognizer back in 2005; the first release has been delivered in November 2006. From Italy, where we are based, we brought
our technology to the UK, to Germany and, slowly, to the entire Europe. But we strongly believe that SiRecognizer should be used by american people as
well, since it is an important aid, for everyday life as well as for the studies.
