To copy your library from OpenBook 5, go to my computer, then click on whatever your hard drive is (probably the C drive). Then choose OpenBook. (Hint this may be found within your program files folder, or it might be right in the C drive, depending on where you installed it). Then go to the users directory. Choose the default directory from within users. Once you're in there, your two choices should be "settings" and "library." Highlight library (don't hit enter on it, just make sure you're on it with your arrow key.) Hit control+C to copy all the files. This may take a couple of seconds. Then you can paste the library folder into your "my documents" folder or wherever you want it by hitting control+v once you're in the "my documents" folder. This may take a minute or two depending on how many files you have in the library folder. When you install OpenBook7, just repeat these steps for finding the library and copy the library you have in your my documents file over the copy of "library" within openbook, again with control+c and then control+v. Then when you go into Openbook 7 and look at your documents, you should see your library from Openbook 5 just as it used to be. Hope this helps! ----- Original Message ----- From: Lisa McManus To: [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, February 19, 2008 3:04 PM Subject: [VICUG-L] question about open book Hi all, I am preparing to install open book 7. I currently have open book 5 on my computer. I want to preserve the files I currently have in open book and need to know the necessary steps to accomplish this, and any other tips you think I might need in updating this program. Thanks in advance.
