Hi folks,

This is an unofficial announcement of a new company. I have joined up with
some researchers and others from Carnegie Mellon and we have started a small
business. We are writing accessible software applications to run on
screenreader enabled cell phones.

Our first application is a very simple currency identifier for the cell
phone. Snap a picture of a bill and it announces the denomination. No
pricing yet, but we expect the price to be in the low tens of dollars, for
the software. Tests are going well, but we have a bit more work to do
before putting it out for a public beta. Look for us, BeaconSysInc at
CSUN next month, and at the NFB and ACB conventions this summer.

We have two other projects in the works and they are very exciting. I will
let you know more as we get closer to finished products. Good things are in
the air.
