Hi Sherry,

You don't mention which version of Word you have. This is
for Word 2003, but it's a similar solution for Word 2007.

I suspect you may have turned off "Windows in Taskbar".

Select "Options" from Word's "Tools" menu.

Navigate to the "View" tab.

In the "Show" section of the "View" tab, check "Windows in
Taskbar".

Click O.K.

You may have to re-start Word.

George.

Subject: [VICUG-L] Unable to Have Multiple Word Docs Open
Simultaneously

In the process of trying to change some Word options, I
accidentally changed something that had unintended
consequences. previously if I had multiple Word documents
open, I could alt tab between them. Now only one stays
active at a time. If I want to see the others I must go to
the File menu and select one by number, right above the exit
option. Does anyone know how I can restore the ability to
have multiple documents open such that I can alt tab between
them? I didn't even know what to look for in the Help
index.

I'd even settle for returning to Windows default settings
but couldn't find that either.

Thanks.
Sherry Wells
